 Telstra Stadium

A multi-purpose stadium located in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct of Homebush, Sydney, Australia. The stadium was completed in March 1999 at a cost of A$690 million to host the 2000 Summer Olympics. It was originally called Stadium Australia before Telstra acquired the naming rights in 2002 (until 2009, with further options). Its name as Stadium Australia had led to confusion by many with another Sydney stadium, Aussie Stadium.

Telstra Stadium in Sydney Australia is a multi-purpose stadium whose construction was completed in the year 1999 with a target of hosting the 2000 Summer Olympics. The Olympic station is just 400 meters away from the Telstra Stadium . During regular stadium events special bus services are also provide to the public.

Telstra Stadium in Sydney , Australia acted as a venue for different types of sports activities like rugby, football, motorcycle speedway and cricket as well as for various concerts. In February 2003, the stadium also hosted its first cricket match. Major soccer matches, Rugby leagues and union matches form an integral part of the stadium. NRL Grand Final is the annual event in the Telstra Stadium and the stadium has also hosted two historic events- Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

The capacity of Telstra Stadium was initially for 110,000 people which was later renovated and reduced to 83500 people. Facilities in the Telstra Stadium are good as it was a host for the Olympic Games and promise to be good in future too.
